Petra was born and raised in the Czech Republic. In the spirit of adventure and a desire to learn English, she moved to London and finally settled in Sydney where she now lives with her husband and her two beautiful girls.

Eastern spirituality and the science of yoga first piqued her interest while she was studying Physiotherapy and Naturopathy in Prague. This interest, combined with her passion for movement from her gymnastics and jazz background, eventually led her to starting a daily Ashtanga practice in 2011. Now the Yoga Sutras, mantras, sitting in meditation and practicing Pranayama all form a part of her regular practice.

As well as completing her three-year teaching apprenticeship with Angelika at North Sydney Yoga, Petra has degrees in Art History and Psychology. She is fascinated with the body-mind relationship and how this connection plays out in our daily lives. As a teacher, Petra loves to guide her students to find their moment of stillness and tranquility in their practice.

In her world outside yoga she is a passionate supporter of the arts and ballet, and spends as much time with her family and in nature as she can.
