There aren’t many sports Katerina hasn’t tried as a child/teenager. While always swimming, playing basketball or volleyball, she also had a strong interest in teaching and helping others, from a young age. She studied adaptive physical education in university, while coaching swimming and volleyball for kids. During these university years, as she was reading research papers about the effects of yoga, she became interested in the different yoga practices. This interest led her to participate in projects such as teaching yoga to prisoners in Finland, catering yoga for the elderly and making yoga accessible for deaf people in Czechia.
Besides yoga, Katerina’s other passion is travelling. By the time she landed in Sydney in 2018, Australia had been on her bucket list for years. She was working as a social educator, being on the hunt for a yoga studio near her workplace when she stumbled upon North Sydney Yoga. Ashtanga yoga was love at first sight practice, which led her to complete the three-year-long teacher training with Angelika Knoerzer.
Katerina teaches with kindness, warmth and attentiveness, putting everybody at ease in her classes.
