We are thrilled to welcome back Gregor Maehle, for a weekend of wonderful insights into Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. The workshop will cover how the eight limbs integrate into a cohesive whole. Gregor has recently finished his fifth book ‘Samadhi, The Great Freedom’. You can expect this to be a truly inspiring workshop!

Integrating the eight limbs into a cohesive whole

Today yoga is usually presented in a fractured way, often even reduced to asana. Correspondingly meditation also is often taught disconnected from its yogic roots. In this workshop you will experience how all the eight limbs are forming an internally consistent unity.

Asana is the bedrock from which all other yogic techniques arise. It forms the base from which success in higher yogic techniques can be integrated. How does asana connect to and bring about the other limbs?

Learn how to use pranayama to harmonize the doshas (humors of the body) and thus attain a state of health and balance as well as how to still the mind, enabling spiritual insight.

The kriyas are predominantly methods of purification of the body. They support the work of postures and are especially important for people who live in large cities. They aid in removing contamination from chemical, environmental, electrical, biological and electromagnetic sources.

Mudras are a large group of yogic techniques that are designed to divert subtle energy (prana) into a particular direction for a specific yogic purpose. They are powerful tools to achieve success in asana, pranayama, kundalini raising and meditation.

Kundalini Raising Techniques

These consist of a combination of all other yogic means to raise the life force (prana) to a level where meditation is easy and spiritual insight becomes spontaneous.

Mantras are bio-plasmic sound waves that are consciously used to bring about positive change in your body, mind and surroundings.

Meditation is the method of bringing your mind into a receptive state
so that you can receive higher knowledge that is already there. Yogic meditation is a collection of scientific methods to bring about such awareness.

The eight samadhis of the Yoga Sutra are introduced. Of prime importance here is the reconditioning of the subconscious mind and its three tiers of physical, pranic and mental component. To remove the obstacles from these three tiers asana, pranayama and meditation are used as an integral approach.
