Recent one-week retreat at Sanctuary Retreat in Mission Beach

We all had a great week at beautiful Sanctuary Retreat on Mission Beach in Queesland. It was a luxury to stay in the 'rainy' rain forest; it didn't stop pouring for nearly a week. How otherwise would we have been able to observe a multitude of frogs, and such beautiful wildlife.
This also ensured that everyone got to rest plenty, read all the bookes they wanted to, and spend a lot of time mingling with what turned out to be a great group of people.

We liked it so much that the booking for next year's retreat is already in place! 6-13 August 2011.

Are your Bandhas working for you? Pelvic Floor and Core Workshop

See how your pelvic floor and core muscles (mūla bandha and uddīyāna bandha) perform on screen. By using real-time ultrasound on the lower abdomen, physiotherapist Joelene Murdoch will show you where your muscles are and how to use them properly.

This workshop can give great insight into how you are using your bandhas and create good body awareness. Engagement of the bandhas is easily overdone; rather than using the correct abdominal muscle groups, we often activate the ones we shouldn't; this leads to the exact opposite effect of what we wish for.

On Saturday 8 May we enjoyed a beautiful puja held by Pandit Rami Sivan. This was the blessing for our beautiful yoga school, and amongst many other things, was to remind us to honour our teachers from the past and present

SPECIAL in 2010 - Add a class per week to your beginners course for only $10

As a SPECIAL offer you are invited to attend any additional class of your choice during your beginners course for ONLY $10, per class. For this second (or more!) weekly class, you can choose any of our 'Beginners Course' classes, 'General' classes, or 'Mysore' classes.

Immerse yourself in your yoga practice, and after your beginners course together with this extra practice, you will feel amazing changes in your body.

You can just turn up and pay on the day for this additional class.  

 

ONGOING SPECIAL - Introduction to Mysore Style Intensive

If you have done one or more beginners courses or are currently attending casual classes you might like to take your practice further and experience practicing in a Mysore style environment. The emphasis will be purely on you memorizing a sequence of postures, which is appropriate for your body. After this intensive you shall feel comfortable to join Mysore style classes on a regular basis if you wish.

6.00-7.00am two mornings per week for three weeks; Come and practice on two mornings of your choice. (Different starting time possible)
Cost: only $90

If you complete the whole three weeks you can purchase any multiple class card of your choice with a discount of 25% for the following week!
